Location
Bus routes to surrounding areas are on your doorstep and the train station is a 15 minute walk away. Two of the closest beaches are Porth and Lusty Glaze. Porth, a sheltered beach that’s perfect for family days out on the sand, in the sea or barbeques watching the sun go down. Porth has a sand locked pub serving local ales and home cooked food in a stunning location. Lusty Glaze, provides a really relaxed vibe and Jet Ski safaris and other watersport activities right from the beach. Newquay is a real jewel on the North Cornwall coast and is a favourite destination for families with its 11 beaches and great local shops including the UK’s oldest surf shop. Newquay still boasts a day fleet of fishing boats that leave from the sheltered harbour. Why not pop down and buy some of the days catch for that sunset barbeque or book one of the day trips along the coast looking for seals and dolphins. The surf culture in Newquay is everywhere and lessons are well catered for on many of the beaches, why not try your hand at the UK’s fastest growing watersport and enjoy the thrill of the surf. Or alternatively Stand-Up Paddle boarding, Kayaking and deep-sea diving are all available with hire and lessons. Newquay also has a peaceful tidal estuary that flows between the town and the pretty village of Crantock. This is an AONB and a haven for sea birds and wildlife as well as the perfect spot for kayaking, or simply strolling along its shoreline to the golden sandy beach. If you can bear to tear yourselves away from the town Padstow, home to Rick Stein's foodie empire, is an easy drive as is St Ives with the Tate Gallery, the world-renowned Eden Project and Charlestown home to TV sets and Tall ships in its historic harbour.
